> The PTA as a data trust / care circle
The modern PTA version should not merely “administer accounts”. It should act as a **care circle** around the child’s digital life.
It could be responsible for: - approving local apps before children use them; - reviewing privacy and safeguarding policies; - choosing trusted Pod providers; - training parents and children in privacy literacy; - appointing LOL Fish moderators; - deciding what can be published publicly; - running parent-child coding sessions; - commissioning independent privacy/security reviews; - holding the local constitution of the club.
This makes the PTA a kind of **community data steward**. - Not a school database. - Not a corporate platform. - Not a government identity system. - A mutual, values-led, locally governed digital commons.
